Family Date Night at Friendly’s Restaurant + Giveaway

friendlys2

Every once in a while we like to have a family date night, where we do a kid friendly activity and have dinner at whatever restaurant the little rugrat chooses.  Last weekend we went to a local petting zoo and then to Friendly’s afterwards.  I remember Friendly’s from my own childhood, especially the tasty SuperMelts and incredible Jim Dandy ice cream sundaes. Well, those classics are still around along with some fresh new menu items like an Asian Chicken Salad and Fish Tacos.

We visited the Friendly’s in Keene, NH during our family date night.   The inside of the restaurant has been recently remodeled and updated, with a fresh look, but till honoring the classic family friendly atmosphere that Friendly’s is famous for.  I have to admit it has been a while since I have eaten at Friendly’s, but I was overall pleasantly surprised by our experience.

First, the service was quick and friendly and our food came out within a reasonable time and was hot and fresh.  I opted to order from the seasonal menu and chose the Summer Berry Salad with Grilled Chicken. Because we indulged and ordered an appetizer, the Munchie Mania (we chose mozzarella sticks and  loaded waffle fries), I wanted a lighter main entree.  The chicken was cooked perfectly and well seasoned and paired nicely with the blend of cheeses, blueberries & strawberries, almonds that was complimented by the raspberry vinaigrette.

My son chose the burgers sliders and to top it off, a Worms in the Dirt sundae that came with his kids meal.

Besides have a family friendly atmosphere and food, Friendly’s also has an affordable price point.  While some casual restaurants have burgers in the $12-$13 range, Friendly’s is much more affordable with many sandwiches starting a just $6!

Also, when you sign up for the Best Friends of Friendly’s email club, you will receive a 25% off coupon and you stay up to date with the latest offerings.

We had a great family date night and a great meal, thanks to Friendly’s!

I’m a sucker for anything with some kick to it, so I’d go for their new Baja Burger or the Buffalo Bleu Chicken sandwich. Either way I’d get those terrific fries and a meal with a bit of bite!

The quesedillas are always good, but I haven’t had a SuperMelt sandwich that wasn’t delicious! The Reuben one sounds like it’s the next one to try on my list!

I would try the loaded waffle fries. Seems like a gluten-free option for me. Thank you for this giveaway!

I am a creature of habit—and vegan! Whenever I go to Friendly’s with my family, I always usually get an order of fries and a salad.
